Introduction to the Charts

Main Chart Horoscope


The Rashi chart which is known as birth chart or natal chart can be drawn in many ways. North Indian Style is drawn as under:-


This is the best form of drawing a chart as it provides a very easy comprehension of the chart at a mere glimpse. It shows angles/planets placed in angles without enumeration. 

Angular houses (Kendra Sthanas) 1, 4, 7, 10 have been marked hereunder:-


Malefic Houses (Duh Sthanas) (6, 8, 12) - It shows whether any planet is posited in the malefic houses. The Sixth, Eighth and Twelfth houses in a chart are known as Malefic houses. Malefic houses have been marked hereunder :-



Trines (Trikona Sthanas) 1, 5, 9 - It shows the placement of planets in trines, if any, at a mere glimpse. The trinal position have been shown as under:-


Even reckoning of the aspects is very easy in this form of a birth chart. The houses are always fixed and are shown below:-


The lordship of the houses is reckoned from the placement of a sign in a particular house. In the following chart, for example, the sign Taurus rises in the ascendant. The counting of houses is done in an anti clockwise direction. 


As the sign Leo is placed in the fourth house, Sun will be the lord of the fourth house.
